How It Works

How It Works

From recording to
clinical insight

A three-step workflow designed around how podiatrists actually work.

Step 1

Capture

Your mobile phone becomes a wireless clinical camera. Scan a QR code on the desktop app to pair instantly — no cables, no configuration.

The desktop shows a live preview feed, so you can verify the camera angle before recording. When you're ready, arm the camera for high-speed mode and hit record — all from the desktop.

Step 2

Process

Once the video is transferred, move through it frame-by-frame using the desktop player. Every frame is cached to disk as a JPEG for instant, lag-free navigation.

Mark three key gait events: heel strike, calibration frame, and toe off. The video is automatically trimmed to the relevant gait cycle. Tag each recording with the foot side, view type, and any clinical conditions.

Heel Strike — start of stance phase
Calibration Frame — landmark reference
Toe Off — end of stance phase
Stance Phase Swing Phase
Frame 0 Frame 487
Step 3

Analyse

On the calibration frame, place coloured marker dots on five anatomical landmarks. The software's tracking algorithms then follow each marker through every frame of the video automatically.

The result is objective, frame-by-frame measurement data: navicular drop, rearfoot angles, and stance phase timing. Compare against normative population data with percentile bands from p5 to p95.

Tibia — tibial shaft reference
Medial Malleolus — inner ankle
Calcaneus — posterior heel
Navicular — arch height reference
1st MTPJ — forefoot reference

What you measure

Objective data from every recording, not subjective impressions.

Navicular Drop

Vertical displacement of the navicular between stance phases, indicating arch collapse under load.

Rearfoot Angles

Calcaneal alignment tracked frame-by-frame through the entire gait cycle.

Stance Phase Timing

Precise heel strike and toe off timing for stance/swing ratio analysis.

Normative Percentiles

Compare against population bands (p5–p95) to contextualise every measurement.
